Open Democracy

openDemocracy is a United Kingdom-based political website. Founded in 2001, openDemocracy claims that through reporting and analysis of social and political issues, they seek to “challenge power and encourage democratic debate” across the world. The website has attracted around 8 million hits a year.

INSTITUTE FOR WAR AND PEACE REPORTING

The Institute for War & Peace Reporting (IWPR) is an international NGO network which, through reporting and capacity building, aims at promoting journalism to secure human rights, raise awareness and strengthen civil society.

AFRICAN FEMINISM

African Liberty was founded in 2007 as a project of the Cato Institute and IMANI Africa, thereafter the Atlas Network. It is a platform for advancing the individual freedom, peace, and prosperity in Africa by promoting civil discussion and debate about social, lgal, economic, and world issues affecting Africans.

AFRICAN WOMEN IN MEDIA

African Women in Media (AWiM) aims to contribute to the creation of enabling environments for African women who work in media industries, and to change the way African women are represented in media content. It does this through research, advocacy and partnerships that impact positively the way media functions in relation to African women.

JOURNALISTS FOR HUMAN RIGHTS

Journalists for Human Rights (JHR) is Canada’s largest international media development organization based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. By mobilizing the media to spread human rights awareness, JHR informs people about human rights, empowering marginalized communities to stand up, speak out and protect themselves”.

Minds of the Movement

Minds of the Movement is the blog from The International Center on Nonviolent Conflict, an independent, nonprofit educational foundation, founded by Jack DuVall and Peter Ackerman in 2002. The blog is written for those interested in the ideas and experiences of people on the front line of civil resistance, and those who seek to understand the art and science of nonviolent struggle.

Al Jazeera is an independent news organization funded in part by the Qatari government. Launched in 1996, Al Jazeera Arabic was the first independent news channel in the Arab world dedicated to providing comprehensive news and live debate.

Peace Journalism Lab is a center of excellence in its field and within the Greek academic community, focusing on interdisciplinary themes such as: International and European Journalism, Peace Journalism, Crisis Management, Hate speech, disinformation, verification and awareness on the fake news, Media and war, Strategic Communications, Media and News Literacy, Diversity and the Media.
